Experience | Learn | Lead | Connect

Making a positive difference comes to those best prepared to work and lead across borders and divides, PTPI provides innovative ways for people to experience, learn, lead, and connect.

Citizen Diplomat Program (CDP)
CDP is our premier program for PTPI members in the Washington, D.C. area. Our Citizen Diplomats offer friendship and hospitality to the International Officers attending the National Defense University (NDU) and their families.ю
Cultural Exchange Program (CEP)
CEP provides opportunities for PTPI members and non-members to learn from country analysts and other subject matter experts, while enjoying a culturally distinctive meal in a pleasant environment.ю
International Visitors Program (IVP)
IVP provides rich cultural experiences in which PTPI members from around the world are offered the opportunity to meet and experience each other’s way of life. This is done through homestays for visitors from other countries, which help to create a mutual understanding of each other’s culture.

About Us

The vision of People to People International is that a network of culturally knowledgeable global citizens will be an active force in creating and sustaining a more peaceful world.

Founded in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, People to People International (PTPI) promotes international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities. PTPI has reached more than 160 countries with people of all ages participating in our programs.

It is a voluntary effort of private citizens promoting international understanding through direct people-to-people contacts. PTPI is dedicated to enhancing cross-cultural communication within and across communities and nations. Tolerance and mutual understanding are central themes. While not a partisan or political institution, PTPI supports the basic values and goals of its founder, President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
